About Us

CityMark FCU was chartered as Wilkes-Barre City Employees FCU on December 8, 1960, by the following group of city employees:

  • William McDaniels

  • Thomas Heffernan

  • Fred Wolsiefer

  • Francis Becker

  • Joseph Carmody

  • John O’Krongoly

  • Charles Pickett

  • Arnold Hartland

We were originally founded to serve the employees and family members of Wilkes-Barre City. Over the years, we have included Plains Township and Wilkes-Barre Township employees and their family members.  In 2016, we were granted a community charter that allows us to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or volunteers in Luzerne, Lackawanna, or Wyoming Counties.

  • December 1960 – chartered as Wilkes Barre City Employees FCU

  • August 2015 – added mobile services, upgraded all technology

  • Sept 2016 – changed our name to Citymark FCU

  • February 2018 – granted a community charter to serve all of Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Wyoming Counties

  • July 2018 – completed merger with Metro Wire FCU

    • reached assets of $45 Million

  • October 2019 - completed merger with People’s Choice FCU

    • reached assets of $56 Million

  • June 2020 - completed merger with Wyoming Valley West Community FCU

    • reached assets of $71 Million

  • November 2020 - Opened new Plains office on River Street

  • May 2021 - reached assets of $80 Million

  • July 2022 - reached assets of $104 Million

  • March 2023 - reached assets of $111 Million
